Our clients, a newlywed couple who love to entertain, wanted to transform the compact ground-floor powder room of their 1920s NDG home into something completely unexpected.

Tucked off the home’s quiet entrance hallway, the room retained several original details, including a small leaded-glass window, wall-mounted sink and penny tile floor. Rather than continue the restrained palette of the surrounding spaces, the clients wanted a dramatic departure: a hidden-door surprise that felt intimate, moody and memorable.

The vision was a jewel-box powder room inspired by the atmosphere of a beautifully designed hotel, bold and theatrical, yet still respectful of the character of the century-old home.

Our role was to balance that sense of drama with the realities of a very small footprint, creating a room where every material, fixture and detail earned its place.
